RDS Employees conquer the spring Wolf Run for Charity
April 2017 seen eight members of the RDS workforce take part in the Spring Wolf Run.
Running through mud and sludge filled deep ponds, running up steep forest faces and swimming through ice cold lakes all in aid of our chosen Charity – Cancer Research UK.
The Wolf Run is Wild Running – a unique combination of three kinds of off-road running: mud runs, trail runs and obstacle runs. it’s a hard core 10k run across raw natural terrain, including open ground, woodland, lakes & thick mud.
Company director Michael Palfrey said of the event “A lot of us had toyed with the idea of doing a team building exercise and someone came up with the great idea of doing the Wolf Run. Running, swimming and falling with style around boggy Warwickshire countryside wasn’t top of my list but soon after signing up and seeing the great reaction and support from our customers, family and friends I knew we had made the right choice. Everyone involved put in all of the training and lucky for us the weather was on our side on the day. It turned out to be a great day and we raised some really good Money for a cause close to all of hearts. Since the run it has been mentioned by some that we look at doing the Winter Wolf Run….but I’ll have to think about it”.
The RDS team crossed the finish line in just under 2 hours and raised an impressive £600.00 for their chosen charity with some of the runners raising individual amounts for other great causes.
